Safoora Bus Carnage: Case to be tried inside jail

A total of eight suspects are being held in the prison with connection to the case

KARACHI: The anti-terrorism court-I trying militants for the Safoora bus attack received on Thursday a letter from the home department saying that the case will be heard inside the jail. The letter stated that it was a serious security concern to take the suspects to the court for hearing. Therefore, it has been decided that the trial will be conducted inside the jail where the suspects have been confined. A total of eight suspects are being held in the prison with connection to the case. Five of them, Tahir Hussain Minhas alias Saien, Saad Aziz alias Tin Tin, Asadur Rehman alias Malik, Azhar Ishrat and Hafiz Nasir, are currently in jail on judicial remand. Sultan Qamar Siddiqi, Hussain Qamar Siddiqi and Naeem Sajid are in police custody on physical remand.
