MQM appoints Nadeem Nusrat as acting convener of Rabita Committee

Amir Khan to take charge as deputy convener after party’s supremo endorses appointments

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has appointed Nadeem Nusrat as acting convener of the party's Rabita (coordination) Committee and Amir Khan as senior deputy convener.

The decision was taken at a joint meeting of MQM Rabita Committees in Pakistan and London, the MQM said in a press release on Thursday, adding that  the party chief Altaf Hussain has endorsed the decisions.

At MQM headquarters Nine Zero, members of the committees, senators, MNAs, MPAs, administrative and other wings also discussed current affairs of the party.

On July 27, MQM inducted four new members in the Rabita Committee, namely Dr A Qadir Khanzada, Advocate Gulfaraz Khattak, Aslam Shah Afridi and former zonal incharge Shabbir Qaim Khani.

The appointment of the new members came two days after Altaf suspended the entire Karachi coordination committee for being "unable to effectively perform its responsibilities despite several assurances".
