In an attempt to boost bilateral trade, officials from both countries will finalise negotiations on the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement phase-II (CPFTA-II) in Beijing this week.


A delegation from the Ministry of Commerce, led by Additional Secretary Robina Ather, left for Beijing for the next round of discussion.  Meetings on the second phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement will continue till Friday, said an official.

He said that the two sides have held many rounds of talks over the last many months and discussed several key issues to finalise the CPFTA-II.

He said that this round of talks will mainly focus on bilateral trade issues, investment and service market opening, tariff reduction modalities, electronic data interchange, technical barriers to trade and sanitary issues.
