KARACHI:

Pakistan off-spinner Bilal Asif, who took a five-wicket haul in only his second ODI, will be sent to Chennai for a test on his bowling action that was reported during a series with Zimbabwe.

It may be pertinent to recall that on-field umpires Jeremiah Matibiri of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka’s Ruchira Palliyaguruge had reported Bilal’s action after the third ODI.

Asif is the third Pakistan player to face questions on his bowling action ever since the International Cricket Council (ICC) launched a crackdown in June last year, with off-spinners Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez also being reported.
