The COAS also met the defence minister of Turkey, and agreed to further enhancing defence collaboration between the two countries.

Army chief, who is on a three-day official visit to Turkey on Monday had met Turkish army chief Hulusi Akar, assuring him Pakistan stood with the country in its fight against terrorism.

“Pakistan and Turkey are facing daunting challenges. I am sure we will surmount them with a common and coherent approach,” the army chief was quoted as saying by the ISPR.
The visit comes in the aftermath of terrorist attack in Ankara when two suspected suicide bombers hit a rally of pro-Kurdish and leftist activists outside the main train station, causing the loss of 86 lives.
