“The ECP’s incompetence barred thousands of voters from exercising their right to vote in the by-election. Owing to change in voters’ addresses, and in some instances constituencies, people were deprived of their right to vote. It seems, the ECP has decided not to improve,” he said. He said the PTI would continue its struggle for change. “We are going strong and will continue to demand justice. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) ship will sink before the next elections. The PTI candidate won the Punjab Assembly seat,” he said.
Sarwar said the party would not allow anyone to steal people’s mandate. “The PTI will now review the NA-122 voters’ lists. After investigating, we will submit evidence to the ECP,” he said. He said that the PML-N was claiming Lahore as its fortress. “Shoaib Siddiqui’s victory and the 72,000 votes polled in favour of Abdul Aleem Khan show that the PML-N is in troubled waters,” he said. He said the PTI would focus on local government elections.
