In 2012, while overseas, Akhoond purchased a new sustainer pickup for his guitar. Upon his return to Pakistan, he spent time at his home studio-cum-man cave deconstructing his guitar and modifying his musical instrument with the latest purchase. What led from there was the release of his latest single.
“I struck up a few impromptu notes and that eventually served as the lead in this track,” Akhoond tells The Express Tribune.

Being a die-hard Bryan Adams fan, it was after listening to his album, Get Up, that he decided to release the instrumental that was originally recorded in 2012. “I finally found the song after endlessly searching for it, and then decided to just put it out there”.
Unlike other Pakistani instrumentals such as Juggal Bandi and Firefly, there is no particular theme attached to Inside Love, it is a single with good old-fashioned improvised guitar playing. “It’s up to the listeners to perceive it as they want because Inside Love is a very extempore track.”
Having made a name for himself as a guitarist, this is not the first instance of the musician stepping from the other side of the recording studio and onto the composer’s chair. “Not many people know this but I co-composed Shehzad [Roy]’s song, Zindagi, and produced my debut release Madhur.”

Open to the possibility of releasing a music video for Inside Love, the guitarist shares that since the current version is very “rough and tough”, he needs to mix and master the track for a wider release. “I did a music video for Madhur which was done by Noor and Rahim. It is probable that the duo may also shoot the video for this single as well”.
The song is presently available on Akhoond’s Myspace profile.
