During the authority’s 16th board meeting held at Erra headquarters, chaiman Hamid Yar Hiraj said that the authority’s expertise would be utilised elsewhere.
“Work on the Balakot (project) had been suspended,” said Muhammad Haroon Aslam, the authority’s deputy chairman. “Erra has re-strategised its approach as a result of meetings held with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and other stakeholders since September 2009, because of which work (on projects) has resumed,” Aslam added.
The meeting was also attended by the chief secretary of Azad Kashmir, representatives of the Planning Division, civil society, government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and finance department.
The board also approved new projects, including the reconstruction of roads and constitution of health and educational facilities.
