ISLAMABAD:

Parents of the students studying in private schools in the capital were informed by Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) that all institutions under their ambit had been directed not to increase any fee, charges or funds in the current year.

In a notice issued on Saturday, PEIRA said that under a 2013 act, all private educational institutions in ICT had been given the direction under a notification issued on September 23.

PEIRA also directed private schools to either refund or adjust any increase in fees they may have made.

The authority said parents residing in the ICT area may place calls to its ‘grievance cell’ (0800-92111) regarding institutions that violate these directives.

PEIRA has asked all private education institutions to submit their written compliance to the September 23 notification by October 15.
