LAHORE: A judicial magistrate locked in his courtroom by a group of lawyers on Friday was freed after Lahore High Court Chief Justice Manzoor A Malik reached the premises and ordered the unlocking of the door.  A court staffer who witnessed the episode at the Model Town courts told The Express Tribune that the judge was locked after he denied bail to a suspect. The suspect’s lawyers, aided by some companions, then refused to let the judge leave the courtroom, he said. Later, he said the lawyers locked the judge in the room and took away the keys. During his visit to the court premises, the LHC chief justice also formed a committee comprising five senior lawyers to probe the matter and submit a report to his office.
