Muharram preparations: 2,644 majalis to be held in Hyderabad

DIG Khadim Hussain Rind said that 145 mourning processions and 134 majalis have been declared very sensitive

HYDERABAD: As many as 775 mourning processions and 2,644 majalis will be organised during the first 10 days of Muharram. At a meeting in Hyderabad of the district administration and police officials of the nine districts of Hyderabad division on Friday, DIG Khadim Hussain Rind said the security situation may remain sensitive. He said that 145 mourning processions and 134 majalis have been declared very sensitive. Hyderabad commissioner Asif Hyder Shah asked the officials to complete both the repairs and maintenance of the roads, which will be the routes of the processions and ensure cleanliness.
