Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has called upon his supporters to thwart any attempts to rig the by-elections in Lahore's NA-122 constituency.

Addressing a gathering at Mozang Chungi in Lahore on Friday, Imran urged his party’s youth to play their part in ensuring no unfair practices are used by opposition candidates on the day of election.

Calling PTI's candidate Aleem Khan - vying for the seat against PML-N's Sardar Ayaz Sadiq - his 'secret weapon' in the election, Imran said they will defeat their rivals in their bastion, Lahore.

The PTI chairman also accused the PML-N of using Punjab police as its 'militant wing'.

Imran also hit back at those questioning the source of funding of the party, saying the PTI is entirely funded by the people, but asked where does funding of 'others come from'.

PTI candidate for the polls, Abdul Aleem Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid and others were also present on the occasion.

On the other hand, addressing the PML-N's supporters, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq asked Imran if he is to bring revolution 'with the help of the remains of former military dictator Gen (retd) Musharraf's regime'.

Highlighting development under the incumbent government, Sadiq claimed that it was for the first time in Pakistan's history that an investment worth $35 billion was pumped into the country's economy.

“If you want terrorism to end, development investment from China, employment opportunities, smooth economy and country's uplift, then get rid of those who have been rejected by people for their politics of protests,” former NA speaker told the people gathered at Dongi Ground in Samanabad area of Lahore.

Asif | 9 years ago | Reply People all over the world are following this election. Imran Khan has already won. Who would have cared about this Ayaz Sadiq If it wasn't for Imran's campaign for justice.
Khan | 9 years ago | Reply Whether you support PTI or not you have to admit PTI definitely did great campaigning and was able to turn this election from a losing election to maybe the greatest upset in the history of Pakistan in by election. The result of this election will have rippling effects. Lahore is the heart of PMLN and if they lose here even after all of Punjab government budget investment then that means the rest of Punjab which already receives little funding will easily slip away and move towards PTI.
