CHITRAL: The relentless protest of girls from Degree College Booni bore fruit as the administration finally yielded to their demand of a bus service. The students held a protest on main Chitral-Mastuj Road on Thursday to demand a bus service so they could get to and from their institute with ease. Earlier, another demonstration was held, but no action was taken by authorities at the time. As a result, they blocked the thoroughfare near Resham Road. “The girls have to walk miles from far-flung areas and it seems the MPA, MNA, provincial and district governments are not bothered,” said one of the protesters. Routes leading to Mastuj Road were blocked for six hours, disrupting the flow of traffic. However, the administration finally took action and Assistant Commissioner Minhasuddin provided a college bus for the students.
