The Peshawar High Court summoned the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa establishment secretary for failing to reply to a notice on the provision of plots to PHC employees. During a hearing on Tuesday, the divisional bench of Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Irshad Qaiser took up a writ petition related to the provision of plots for PHC employees along the same lines followed for other departments. Qazi Muhammad Anwar, a senior lawyer representing the petitioner, told the court that the provincial government allotted plots under residential projects from time to time. “However, employees of the high court were completely ignored,” he said. He informed the court that the case had been pending for the last seven years. Anwar said the bench sought a reply from the respondent on June 25, on the number of plots given to provincial government employees. Additional Advocate General Umer Farooq Adam told the court that his office sent a letter to the respondent. However, he had not received a reply as yet. The court issued a notice to the secretary to appear before the court on the next date of hearing.
