Exams resume at KU amid tight security

KARACHI: Exams at the Karachi University were held as scheduled on Thursday as life returned to normal following Tuesday's blast.

Security has been tightened on the university premises and no one is permitted inside without complete identification and checking. Following the explosion, when the university reopened on Wednesday, the three gates, Silver Jubilee, Masqan (IBA gate) and Residential, all had a heavy deployment of Rangers.

Only those vehicles having university ID stickers are allowed to enter the premises.

This comes a day after the university was reopened following the low intensity explosion near the main cafeteria at the campus on Tuesday that injured at least three people. The explosion took place when students from the Imamia Students Organisation were preparing to offer midday prayers.
