LAHORE: Rabi Peerzada may have fallen off the radar over the years but she seems to be back in the entertainment scene with guns blazing. The Mujhe Ishq Hai singer recently launched the video of her rendition of Reshma’s iconic song Ve Main Chori Chori Tere Naal and revealed how she’s set to foray into Pakistani cinema.

Speaking at the Lahore Press Club, she shared she has added her own flavour to the popular number. “I’ve sung the legendary Reshma’s song but I’ve performed the track in my own style,” she said. “I’ve also performed in the video as I don’t like other models,” she added.

Rabi hopes people will appreciate the song and that she’ll continue creating music. On the future of the local music scene, she stated, “The future of the industry is bright, as local singers have also been gaining recognition overseas.”

Rabi also divulged details about the upcoming project, saying it will soon go on the floors. “I’ve signed a film and its filming is expected to begin soon in Kashmir and Lahore,” she said. Hopeful that the move will bode well for her career, she cited the resurgence of the local film industry as why she felt now was the time to work in a movie.

“I had been getting opportunities to work in films since many years but I ignored the offers,” she shared. Without revealing the storyline, the singer-actor said the project is a family film and a well-rounded entertainer.
