While speaking to the media at District Headquarters Hospital Charsadda, Muhammad Saeed, the deceased’s father, said unidentified masked men slit his son’s throat.
“The incident occurred when my sons—14-year-old Bismillah Jan and 17-year-old Saifullah—had gone to the fields to get fodder for the cattle,” he said. “The men approached and tortured them. They killed Bismillah while my older son managed to escape.” According to Saeed, his deceased son studied at a private school and had no enemies.
Counter claim
On the other hand, locals said Bismillah had been killed by Saifullah and Saeed was simply trying to cover up the matter to protect his older son. A series of controversial statements were obtained from residents who said they were familiar with the developments. The case is now being investigated by SP Investigation Pir Shahab. Police registered a case and visited the site to collect evidence.
Suicide
A 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in Katozai, Charsadda. A Charsadda police officer said the deceased has been identified as Kainat. “We have reason to believe she committed suicide because she was unhappy about a marriage proposal,” he said. “An agreement over her wedding was to take place on Saturday.”
Police have registered a case and started investigation.
