‘Pink october’: Nawaz for breast cancer awareness

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has underscored the need for marking Breast Cancer Awareness month as an opportunity to dispel the myths about the disease to enable patients to live healthy and productive lives post diagnosis and treatment. In his message, the prime minister said holistic and well-coordinated awareness campaign at the national level was required to raise awareness about the disease. He further stated that women diagnosed with breast cancer can live normal, healthy and productive lives, given the disease is diagnosed and treated at the appropriate time. He mentioned that the concerned federal ministries and divisions had been directed to arrange special events throughout the month to raise awareness about this disease and its timely treatment besides expanding health infrastructure across the country.
