All through the night: At least 60 arrested in crackdown

MINGORA: At least two proclaimed offenders and 58 suspected law offenders were arrested in an operation by security forces and the police in Mingora city and its outskirts. “The operation started Thursday evening and continued until Friday morning,” said DPO Saleem Marwat. The DPO added the crackdown, a major one, was launched based on intelligence information. Two proclaimed offenders along with 58 other suspects were arrested. A large cache of weapons and drugs were recovered from their possession. The suspects were subsequently placed behind bars at Mingora, Banrh, Saidu Sharif, and Rahimabad police stations. Separate cases were filed against them. Meanwhile, a militant was arrested in a search operation conducted by security forces and police in Matta tehsil on Friday. He has been identified as Ghazi Akbar and was involved in various attacks on security forces and police officials.
