Commissioner’s appeal: ‘Promote sectarian harmony in Muharram’

Security will also beefed up at these locations, assured the police officials

KARACHI: Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has appealed to the religious scholars to play their role in promoting sectarian harmony particularly during the month of Muharram. Siddiqui was chairing a meeting to review the security arrangements being made in the city for Muharram. Karachi administration, the police and all civic agencies will coordinate to facilitate the organisers and the participants of processions scheduled for the month, he said. Participants were assured that no load-shedding will be carried out from the first of Muharram to Ashura at identified sites and centres. Security will also beefed up at these locations, assured the police officials.
