Quetta shooting: Ex-minister’s guard injures man

The police spokesman further added that Minister Jattak was inside an arms shop when the incident occurred

QUETTA: A guard employed by former provincial minister Ali Madad Jattak’s allegedly shot and injured a man on Jinnah Road in Quetta on Tuesday. According to police spokesman Sajjad Tareen, the former minister’s guard opened fire at the victim identified as Zhoor Dhasti Jattak, who has bullet wound in the leg. “The former minister’s guard Javed was subsequently taken into custody. The guard said he found Zahoor acting suspiciously and staring at Minister Jattak and that he responded to the perceived threat by opening fire at him.” The police spokesman further added that Minister Jattak was inside an arms shop when the incident occurred. Former minister Ali Madad Jattak, however, said that he was sitting inside a shop, along with his people, when a vehicle opened fire at him. “My guards retaliated. I don’t know the man who was injured by my guard’s firing.”
