LAHORE:

Father of a 13-year-old girl, who worked as domestic help, filed a complaint with police on Monday, seeking the registration of a case against her employer.

According to the complaint filed with Nawankot police, Aslam said that Muhammad Salim, the girl’s employer, had illegally detained and tortured her.

Salim told police that the girl had stolen jewellery and other valuables from his house.

A Child Welfare and Protection Bureau field officer said that they had investigated the case. “Our team and a woman constable had visited Salim’s house.

The girl confessed to having stolen jewellery and valuables. We did not find any signs of torture on her body,” he said.

He said that Salim had contacted police on September 21 and reported the theft.

Nawankot SHO Sharif Sindhu said that they were investigating the complaint.

“We will decide whether or not to register a case after we receive the medical report,” he said.
