PESHAWAR: The counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrested a known militant, Noor Wali, who hails from the Madda Khel Afridi clan. He is a resident of Akka Khel in Khyber Agency. He was wanted by the Gulberg police for a suicide attack at the CIA interrogation centre in the city in 2009. The bombing left 14 people, including seven policemen, dead and scores of others injured. The man was also allegedly involved in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of SI Muhammad Tariq Khan, the head of a police post in Badhaber. Law enforcers say he is an important member of a banned militant outfit and has been arrested in a raid carried out based on a tip-off.
