An Indian man was arrested for allegedly taking ‘upskirt’ photos and videos of women with a camera fitted to his shoes.

According to police, the manager of a shop caught him moving close to women who were wearing short skirts and placing his right foot near them. The man tried to escape when the manager confronted him and was caught by mall guards who found the camera in his shoe and called the police.

The police said they recovered almost a dozen video clips from the 34-year-old-man’s camera and a case was filed against him for "stalking" and "watching or capturing an image of a woman engaging in a private act". However, the man has been released on bail.

After questioning, the police found that the man had gotten the idea to use a spy camera, which he had purchase online from popular websites and had used it to capture obscene photographs of women. He had visited the same mall on many occasions before as well.

Further, the police also confiscated his mobile phone and laptop and are trying to discover whether he took the photos and videos for himself or if he uploaded them on the internet.
