Death and misery: Two commit suicide in separate incidents in Charsadda

Four-year-old girl dies of dog and jackal bites near fields in Mandani.

CHARSADDA: Two girls, belonging to different areas of Charsadda, committed suicide for unknown reasons on Sunday.

Baidara, a resident of Umerzai, told the police that Maryam, her daughter, was a member of the domestic staff at a man named Fazal Rabi’s house.

When she went to pick Maryam up from Rabi’s house on Sunday, she refused to go with her. Baidara then forced her daughter to go home with her, following which Maryam locked herself in a room in the house and shot herself dead.

According to the police, Baidara said she did not know the reason behind her daughter’s suicide. Police lodged her complaint.

Meanwhile, Sana, a resident of Ashara Korona, shot herself for unknown reasons. A Battagram police report read Sana shot herself inside her house and succumbed to her injuries later in
the hospital.

Deadly dog bites

In a separate incident, dogs and jackals attacked a four-year-old girl named Hina near some fields in Mandani, Charsadda. According to the police, Hina was critically injured in the incident and succumbed to her injuries. Her body was taken to the hospital for an autopsy. She was later laid to rest.

Grenade attack

Kamran, a resident of Behlolkhel, told City police officer Fazal Malik that Gul Rehman and Farooq hurled a hand grenade on his house.

Though no one was hurt in the incident, his house was damaged. Kamran told the police he had an old enmity with the accused. Police registered an FIR against the alleged attackers under the anti-terrorism act and started investigation.
