ISLAMABAD:

The country’s largest distance learning university is currently expediting the delivery of books to its enrolled students.

On Sunday, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) said that in its first phase, books for Matriculation, FA and CT programmes will be dispatched for the current semester.

This phase is expected to be completed in a week.

A new computerised tracking system has also been introduced, which will facilitate students in checking the mailing status of their books.

The varsity has also launched a new website (mailing.aiou.edu.pk) for this purpose, as well as a text messages service.

An automated mailing process is also being introduced by the university, while the postage registry numbers and student roll numbers have been kept the same in order to facilitate students.

Students have been advised to contact relevant post offices in case of delivery delays.
