He also shared the connection between the Prometheus sequel and his Aliens franchise, while also indicating that there might be more than one Prometheus sequels.
Scott said that he’s using Prometheus to explain things in Aliens, so that both of them were connected, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“The whole point is to explain the Alien franchise, how and why there was creation of the aliens. I always saw the Alien as a type of biological warfare. For me, the original spaceship that I call the croissant, a warship that contains these biomechanoids creatures, which is all about destruction,” Scott told German site FilmFutter.

Prometheus was originally planned as a one-shot prequel to Alien, but Scott later claimed that Prometheus wasn’t a direct prequel to the classic film. Since the first film didn’t end up like the initial plan, Scott was asked whether Prometheus 2 would be the one directly connected to Alien.
“Yes. But it won’t be in the next one,” he answered.
Scott hinted that one movie might not be enough to answer some questions left in the first movie, so he would probably connect Prometheus to his 1979 film in the third or fourth film. “It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise,” he said.
