RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi City District Government on Thursday sealed two clinics in Rawalpindi and Murree.

The administration sealed Wada Clinic and Rehabilitation Centre, illegally functioning in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, said a district government spokesperson.

The rehabilitation centre working for drugs detoxification and psychiatric patients was sealed under the Punjab Healthcare Commission Act, (PHC) 2010 for failure to produce a valid licence issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The raid was conducted by a special team headed by Rawalpindi Assistant Deputy Commissioner (General) Imran Qureshi.

The spokesperson said that a total of 20 patients were kept in locked rooms and were being treated without supervision of qualified doctors and paramedical staff.

The clinic administration also failed to produce proper record of the patients admitted to the centre.

Allopathic medicine were also recovered from the centre, which is against the law.

The patients, who belong to different areas including the twin cities and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, were moved to Pirwadhai area, from where their families were asked to receive them.

The city administration said that they would facilitate the patients return home.

Clinic sealed

Meanwhile, Murree Assistant Commissioner Tahir Farooq sealed Aimen Homeo Clinic situated in Lower Bazaar Murree, under PHC, Act 2010 for failure to provide a valid licence. The clinic has been functioning for the past many years without a licence.
