The Judicial Magistrate Amir Khalil granted bail to Haris Rasheed, Haroon Rasheed and their driver, Asif, against surety bonds of Rs30,000 each after the police produced them before the court.
On Wednesday, the police and Rangers had arrested the brothers and their driver from the Supermarket area in Sector F-6. The security personnel claimed to have seized an army uniform and a handgun from their possession.
Subsequently, the Kohsar police registered a case against them for refusal to cooperate with a public servant, impersonating a public servant, impersonating a public servant with fraudulent intent, and carrying illegal arms.
Later, the police produced them before a court and got physical remand for one day.
On Thursday, the police produced the suspects before the court requesting that they be sent to jail as the police had completed investigations and needed no more physical remand.
Opposing judicial remand, the counsel for the suspects – Advocate Tariq Asad – filed a bail application saying the police lodged a fabricated case against his clients and they have already produced a license for the weapon. He requested the court to grant them bail as all the offences mentioned in the FIR were bailable.
