Women’s tour of Pakistan: Bangladesh agree on venues for matches

Two ODIs and two T20Is to be played in Karachi at Southend Club

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully convinced the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to stage all the matches of the two women’s teams in Karachi at the Southend Club later this month.

The national cricket board preferred keeping Karachi as the sole venue, whereas the BCB wanted their women team to play in Karachi and Lahore for the two-ODI and two-T20I series.

However, there has been a breakthrough on the issue with the BCB confirming in an email that they have no problems in playing all of their matches in Karachi and preparations should be initiated.

“The BCB has agreed to play all four matches in Karachi at the Southend Club,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune. “Previously, they wished to have the matches split between Karachi and Lahore but we wanted them to be played at one location. It’s good that we have reached an agreement and now we can focus on the series.”

Bangladesh’s security delegation had recently visited Pakistan before giving the go-ahead for the tour.

The PCB had reportedly asked the BCB to send its women’s team here if they wanted Pakistani players to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League.
