Exchange of fire: Two suspects killed, another injured in encounter

Weapons were seized from the possession of alleged criminals

SUKKUR: Ghotki police killed two suspects and injured one during alleged encounters in separate incidents near Khan Farm, between Ubauro and Daharki, and near Raunti.

Two wanted criminals were killed during an exchange of fire on National Highway near Khan Farm, claimed the police.

Daharki police station head constable Riaz Ahmed Selro said that the police raided the area on a tip off about the presence of the criminals. Two suspects, identified as Mashooq alias Shanti Tanwri and Mir Hassan Kobhar, were killed while three of their accomplices managed to escape, he said.

According to the constable, Tanwri was allegedly involved in 18 cases including the murder of a policeman Daya Ram, who was killed during an attempted robbery in Sarrafa Bazaar, Daharki, few days back. The second suspect, Kobhar, was also wanted in many cases, he added.

In another encounter, police arrested an alleged criminal, Mohammad Nawaz Malik, in injured condition, while his accomplices managed to flee. The police arrested the suspects after an exchange of fire during their routine patrol.
