Ban on decorative use of electricity

KARACHI: Electricity can no longer be used for commercial decorations, electronic sign boards and billboards.

The Sindh home department issued a ban on Wednesday, making the offence punishable by law under Section 144. City District Government Karachi, Karachi cantonment boards, the Karachi Electric Supply Company and the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company must also find alternatives to operate streetlights, said Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Ali Mirza.
