Rangers nab two policemen for 'robbing' citizens

The accused had allegedly snatched Rs85,000 from a citizen in the name of snap checking

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers arrested on Wednesday two policemen allegedly robbing citizens during snap checking in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi.

The two police personnel were identified as Shah Muhammad and Abdul Ghani who were later handed over to the police for further legal action.

According to details, the policemen were reportedly taking bribes in the name of snap checking when a citizen, Shahid Siddiq, informed the Rangers about it on their helpline number, accusing the two of snatching Rs 85,000 from him.Responding to his complaint, the Rangers reached the site and arrested the accused.

A video showing the paramilitary force arresting the policemen has also gone viral on the social media.



Later on, a case against the accused police personnel was registered in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station and further investigation was initiated.
