Pakistani reporter Chand Nawab, who became an internet sensation after his viral video inspired a scene in a Bollywood movie, was reportedly beaten up by police in Karachi on Tuesday.

According to reports, Nawab along with his team was interviewing passengers at Karachi’s Cantt Station when police and railway officials heckled his team and slapped him around.

Nawab was interviewing people regarding an illegal hike in prices of tickets due to Eidul Azha.

The officials also tried to turn off his camera and threatened to arrest crew members. However, as people intervened, the ruckus soon died down.

Railway officials denied having initiated the fight claiming that Nawab manhandled them first.

Baba | 9 years ago | Reply This is a travesty. Chand was in the process of exposing black market ticketing ring. Shows how corrupt this country is when a senior policeman, on camera denies the cruel beating. Railway like PIA is going down the gutter.
