Pakistan Super League launched in star-studded event

Winners to be awarded $10 million, each player will earn over $50,000

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) was launched on Sunday amid celebrations attended by a number of cricket greats as well as celebrities.

Speaking at the launch ceremony held in Lahore, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan said international cricket players would join the PSL, which would benefit national players.

“We will also expand the spectrum of Pakistan Super League,” Shahryar said.

Winners will be awarded with $10 million prize money, whereas, each player will also earn over $50,000, disclosed former PCB chairman Najam Sethi while speaking at the event.






The logo for the much-hyped league was also unveiled while Ali Zafar performed on stage, revealing the League's anthem.





The national women cricket team, along with celebrities including Mahirah Khan, Ayesha Omer, Nadia Hussain, among others were part of the star-studded event.
