Stressing cricket should be kept away from politics, Test captain Misbahul Haq has called for revival of cricket series with India.

Speaking to reporters in Lahore, Misbah said he has always urged the two sides face each other in the field regularly.

"I believe cricket and politics should not be mixed. Cricket has helped reduce tensions in the past. I think the bilateral series should be revived," he said.

With Indian reluctance, uncertainty is seen mounting over the Test series scheduled in December in the UAE.

Urging India to reaffirm its commitment, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been pushing for the series, sending letter to BCCI asking for confirmation.

The optimistic cricket mega star said, "Let us hope the series is held because we would like to compete against India in Tests not just limited overs cricket. I would like to lead the team against India in Test matches."

Earlier, all-rounder Shahid Afridi also said the series with India should go as planned.

"Cricket has always played a positive role in bringing peace between the two countries," he had tweeted.

Lets's change this to “I believe trade and politics should not be mixed. Trade has helped reduce tensions in the past. I think the bilateral trade should be revived,” he said. Makes sense?.
