Law and order: ‘Robber’ killed in shootout

Sargodha Road police registered a case and started investigation

Police on Thursday claimed to have killed an unidentified robber in a shootout near Sargodha Road police station.


A police spokesman said three armed men had snatched a motorbike and cash from Mujahid near Noorpur and fled.


He said Inspector Muhammad Zafar, who was patrolling the area, was informed about the incident. He said Zafar’s team set up a picket.


He said when police signalled three men riding a motorbike to stop, they shot at them.


He said when police returned fire, one of them was killed. The spokesman said his accomplices escaped.


Sargodha Road police registered a case and started investigation. The spokesman said a team had been formed to apprehend the suspects.
