Ijaz Anwar, counsel for Jawad and 14 other employees, told the court his clients were appointed on contract in 2012 for a year initially. Later, the government regularised other employees. However, the ones before the court were not among the regularised officers.
“The subcommittee of the federal cabinet division had recommended the regularisation of these employees. However, when the new government was elected, the regularisation process was not given the due attention,” Anwar told the court. The court, on hearing the arguments in detail, ordered the regularisation of these employees who were appointed as upper and lower division clerks.
