Pakistan’s most successful Test captain Misbahul Haq said that he has not planned his retirement right now and is looking forward to the series against England in the UAE.

Misbah, 41, earlier said that he would like to end his career on a high by playing his last series against India in December but since the tour is in jeopardy he has also changed his plans accordingly.

"I have made no plans at this time but I will review my future and what I should do after the series against England," said Misbah, while talking to a Pakistani news channel as quoted by Press Trust of India.

The middle-order batsman, who has represented Pakistan in 58 Tests and 162 one-day internationals has had his fair share of critics for his brand of defensive captaincy and cricket said that it is a tough job to lead the Pakistani pack.

"It is a challenge to lead the Pakistan team and the players have really done well as a unit which is why despite not playing at home since 2009 we have achieved some notable success," he said.

While commenting on the series against England he said that the 2012 results, where Pakistan downed the visitors 3-0, do not matter now.

"The series against England will be a challenging one even though we play on pitches to which we are used to of playing. And I don't think the results of 2012 will matter now as England have new players and have recently won the Ashes as well.”

Misbah further said that Pakistan had done extremely well in Test matches due to the consistency that they have shown in the format.

"The good thing is that the same nucleus of players have been around in the Test squad for the last few years now and have gelled very well which has given stability to the side. We lost Saeed last year but Yasir has stepped in and done well."

Misbah added that the record-equalling fastest Test century against Australia last year is his most favourite memory to cherish.
