BHAKKAR:


As many as 1,820 candidates for the seats of chairmen, vice chairman and general councillors in the local government elections have submitted nomination papers in Bhakkar district.


The break up is as follows: 1,539 candidates have submitted nomination papers for 684 seats of general councillors in 59 wards in six municipal committees of Bhakkar.


There are 133 candidates for 18 wards in Bhakkar, 85 candidates for 12 wards in Darya Khan, 29 candidates for five wards in Dulewala, 81 candidates for 11 wards in Kaloorkot, 36 candidates for five wards in Jandawala and 47 candidates for eight wards in Manekera. The final list of candidates will be exhibited at the office of the returning officer on October 2.
