Targeted : Former peace committee member killed

Armed men disguised in security forces uniforms gunned down a former peace committee member in Tank on Saturday night.

According to an insider, around 40 armed people in security forces uniforms launched a search operation in Umer Khan Kalay of Bettani. Umar Khan Kalay is located 10 kilometres away from main Tank Bazaar.

He stated the armed men caught three men from the village and took them away, adding two were later released.

However, a third man, Rafiullah of the Shakhai Bettani tribe, was shot dead. He recently returned from Dubai.

The insider said the deceased was a member of the defunct Aman Committee Turkistan Group.

Police registered an FIR against unidentified killers on the complaint of the deceased’s father, Haibat Khan.
