Entrepreneurship: Women by Women fair opens in Sialkot

“Exhibitions and fairs should be organised regularly to promote small businesses,” Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Saturday. He was addressing newsmen after inaugurating a two-day exhibition titled Women by Women at Government College for Women University. The exhibition was organised by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

The ministers said exhibitions and fairs helped entrepreneurs introduce their products to customers home and abroad. He said Sialkot’s exports were a significant part of the national economy. He said thousands of workers were employed here. The minister visited stalls at the exhibition and appreciated the products on display. SCCI President Fazal Jilani told the minister that the exhibition aimed at facilitating businesswomen. He said 46 women entrepreneurs were participating in the exhibition. He said they had come from Lahore, Faisalabad and Sialkot. Garments, handicrafts, home decor, sportswear, leather products, food items, jewellery, leather accessories, pharmaceuticals, herbal products, confectioneries and cosmetics were exhibited at the fair.
