Bilateral exchange: IIUI president meets Saudi ambassador

A delegation from the Saudi Majlis-e-Shoora also visited the university

The president of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) called on the ambassador of Saudi Arabia on Friday.

IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh met with Ambassador Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahran, and discussed matters of mutual progress and cooperation.

Ambassador Al-Zahran lauded the varsity’s services and assured his full cooperation for the improvement of education in the country. Mutual cooperation between IIUI and Saudi universities would be encouraged, he added.

Dr Al-Draiweesh praised the ambassador on the extraordinary Hajj arrangements made by the Saudi government for Pakistani pilgrims.

The president also appreciated the collaboration between IIUI and Saudi Arabia’s Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.

Also on Friday, a delegation of the Saudi Majlis-e-Shoora headed by Prof Atalla Abohassan visited IIUI’s Faisal Mosque campus and called on Al-Draiweesh.

The delegation and IIUI president also visited the university’s Islamic Research Institute.

Prof Abohassan lauded IIUI’s efforts and described their curriculum of Islamic teachings alongside modern courses as having produced “balanced and harmonious leadership”. Pakistan is like second home for Saudi citizens, he added.
