Food adulteration: Five more outlets sealed
The ICT Administration is currently undertaking a massive anti-adulteration campaign

On the second day of ongoing campaign against food adulterators, inspection teams of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration sealed five food outlets while imposing fines amounting to Rs260,000 on 13 other eateries.
On Thursday, seven food inspection teams headed by various assistant commissioners inspected 39 food outlets and food factories across the city.
“The teams arrested six food adulterators under the Pure Food Act and other sections of the Pakistan Penal Code,” said Abdus Sattar Easani, an additional deputy commissioner.
Bakeman Factory in Sector G-10, Rahat Bakers at I-10, Triway Food Factory I-10, and Bismillah Meat Shop and Kiani Poultry Shop in Sector F-8/3 were sealed for operating under “extremely unhygienic conditions”.
Habibi Resturant in PWD Society, Ox and Grill in Bahria Town, Habibi Golden Hotel, Happy Well Food, Jamil Sweets Factory, Umer Bakers and Store, and five other meat shops were also fined for not maintaining cleanliness.
On the second day of campaign, rural parts of the city were given focus. A number of violators of food quality were collectively fined Rs 145,000. In Shams Colony, a factory dealing with a number of bakeries including Shikarpuri Sweets in Sector G-9 was heavily fined.
