The police claim to have busted an eight-member gang involved in target killing, extortion, robberies and other acts of terrorism, recovering arms and ammunition from their possession.


The DIG South announced in a presser on Thursday that a police team headed by Preedy SDPO nabbed the target killing gang in a raid conducted on covert intelligence. The arrested men were identified as Kalim alias Bihari, Kamran alias Kami, Adnan alias Addi, Farhan, Haider, Shahbaz, Shehroz and Oonib.


The police said the suspects, during the initial interrogation, confessed to committing eight murders in different parts of the city. The cases have been registered at the Pakistan Bazaar, Orangi Town, North Nazimabad and other police stations.


Two MP5 rifles and two 0.30 caliber pistols with hundreds of bullets, as well as six snatched cell-phones were said to be recovered from them. The police added that the suspects belonged to a political party, the name of which has not been revealed.
