Glad tidings : ANP supports FATA Reforms Bill

JAMRUD: Awami National Party has announced its support to the Fata Reforms Bill. This was said during a conference held in Jamrud, Khyber Agency on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, ANP General Secretary Abdul Wahid lauded the decision to submit a draft of the bill to the National Assembly Secretariat. “This move will reverse the effect of Article 247 of the Constitution.” Among other things, Article 247 states that neither the Supreme Court nor a High Court shall exercise jurisdiction within the tribal areas. During the conference, ANP leaders condemned the negative response shown towards the bill. They added the region will prosper if it is merged with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
