He said that the prime minister has already made it clear that the ISI chief will not be sent to the United States; therefore raising this issue makes no sense. He said after being in the coalition for three years allies are threatening to withdraw only to enhance their vote banks.
Shah made it clear that in the next general elections nobody will be able to get a clear majority and a coalition government would be formed. He said that no work on exploration of oil and gas was done during the last decade but the present government has initiated many such projects. He claimed that the government is still giving Rs250 billion in electricity subsidies and if this is withdrawn the government could improve infrastructure. Federal Minister for Law Babar Awan while recalling Benazir’s arrival in Karachi said that anti-democratic forces attacked her convoy to stop her struggle adding that he was optimistic about the government completing its tenure.
