'Go Big or Go Home' seems to be the idea behind the first edition of Pakistan's biggest cricket tournament and it has sent fans in a tizzy.
Here's the deal: There will be a total of five teams comprising international cricket stars as well as local talent. Each team will have four international players and eight Pakistani players.
A little birdie has told us that each team will be endorsed by one male and one female celebrity who will be called 'Franchise Ambassadors'.
While the list is in the works, we came up with a few suggestions:
1. Shaan and Mawra:
The perfect union of ethos and pathos, these two will probably end up splitting their team into two. But what could be better than a live show of Tom and Jerry? Shaan has his views, Mawra has hers; these two vocal celebs are bound to create quite a ruckus, and we won't be complaining!
2. Atif Aslam and Gul Panra:
This Coke Studio duo make an enviable pair -- good looks paired with sweet voices -- they'll make every cricket enthusiast giddy. Even if their team loses, they can always make up for it with their splendid vocals. Not only will their team appreciate it but the crowd will go hysterical.
3. Fawad Khan and Humaima Malick:
While Fawad is not much of a talker, the latter is known to make headlines, and not for all the right reasons. Humaima will be the perfect fit for our prince charming. They share a passion for cricket; while the actress uploads images with the national team, the dapper actor plays the sport with utmost vigour. Maybe Fawad can teach Humaima a few of those 'chhakka' and 'chowka' lessons he gave Siddharth.
4. Ali Zafar and Mahira Khan:
Can we please be on this team? Ali Zafar is a charmer and Mahira is no less; both will make a lovely couple for sure. We don't doubt that the boys on this team will be swooning over their beautiful ambassador rather than focusing on the game.
5. Hamza Ali Abbasi and Ayesha Omar:
One can instill patriotic values while the other can be a cheerleader for the team (let's hope Hamza doesn't start a fatwah during Ayesha's cheerleading routine). We all know Hamza's jazaba and junoon when it comes to our nation but let's not forget, Ayesha is just as patriotic. While they may not necessarily be on the same wavelength (remember Hamza's Facebook post on item numbers which coincided with the release of Ayesha's 'item number' in Karachi Se Lahore?), we're sure they'll be great at motivating their team.
