BAHAWALPUR: Members of the Anjuman-i-Tajraan, Bahawalpur, announced solidarity with traders across the province and said they would hold a complete shutter down on Wednesday.

In the meeting on Tuesday, All Pakistan Anjuman-i-Tajraan vice president and Anjuman-i-Tajraan Bahawalpur United Central president Hafiz Muhammad Younus said the withholding tax was cruel and would harm the traders’ community.

They demanded that the government revoke the tax without delay. Anjuman-i-Tajraan district president Tariq Abbasi and Anjuman-i-Tajraan Shahi Bazaar president Mir Syed Jamaal attended the meeting. They condemned the government’s decision to impose the withholding tax and said they would make Wednesday’s strike a protest to remember. They urged leaders of other traders’ bodies to join hands and make the strike a successful one. The Anjuman-i-Tajraan has announced a complete shutter-down strike will be observed in Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur and in Liaquatpur.
