PESHAWAR:

Five computer hard disks were stolen from the establishment department of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Tuesday.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai constituted a three-member committee to probe the theft. The committee, comprising Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) Dr Ghulam Subhani, DMS Dr Ishaq Rasool and LRH DSP security Sajid Mumtaz, has been asked to submit an enquiry report within three days.

The LRH administration had already started an investigation into the matter and also managed to obtain fingerprints of the suspects. The administration stated that as far as it knew, the data included letters sent and received. However, they did not dismiss the possibility of other data that could be of use to outsiders.

Talking to The Express Tribune, an LRH administration officer, requesting anonymity, said, “I don’t know much, but I have learnt after talking to various people that the data included show cause notices to Class-IV employees and some other letters of a similar nature.” He added the theft was probably carried out just to create panic.
